Product Care
Tableware / Homegoods
As with any fine china, our product should be delicately cleaned and stored appropriately. Each item is hand-decorated with gold leaf paint and coated with an FDA-compliant* food-safe epoxy.
For both of those treatments, extra care must be taken:
- Do not serve food or liquid with temperatures at or above 165F.
- Do not cut on or prepare raw food on epoxy surfaces.
- Do not utilize for food service if the coating has been chipped or damaged.
- Items are NOT microwave or dishwasher-safe.
- Hand wash with a soft cloth & mild soap; avoid using any coarse materials.
- For optimum storage, please do not crowd items. All products are vintage and should be handled with extreme care. We do not recommend stacking our products; however, if necessary, please utilize a plate divider (or even a coffee filter!).
"FDA-compliant"* means that the product has been evaluated and found to meet the health and safety standards set out by the United States Food and Drug Administration. "FDA-compliant epoxy resin" means that, if prepared according to the label instructions and allowed to fully cure, the product is safe for direct contact with food. In other words, FDA-compliant epoxy resin has been found not to leach harmful components into food that it has been in contact with.
